The Chinese lettuce is a centuries-old Chinese lettuce variety that grows like a feather duster on a thick stem. The rather firm, slightly bitter leaves are sometimes eaten, but the stems are 50 cm long and 5 cm thick. The taste is a bit between lettuce and celery with a hint of nut and sweet. The structure is like a firm cucumber without seeds and the color is beautifully translucent green. Surprisingly tasty and easy vegetable!
