EDDO

This is our Eddo, a starchy root of a tropical plant of the same name. It has a hard brown hairy skin and therefore looks like a coconut. (Caution: boil this root, as it is poisonous if eaten raw in large quantities. After cooking, the eddo is similar in structure to a potato but with a delicious nutty flavour.
